Set within 20 acres of private, ancient, peaceful woodland, and surrounded by a working farm, the property is accessed by a magical ½ mile driveway through the woods that gives you a real sense of adventure and ‘getting away from it all’ even before you arrive. Deer, pheasants, hawks, and buzzards may sometimes accompany your drive up through the woods and in the spring a carpet of bluebells cover the ancient woodland.

Tawnawood is a spacious, converted 17th Century two-bedroom stone barn, that sleeps up to 4, allowing friends and family to stay together in a private, rural location, surrounded by woodland, fields, wildlife & fabulous valley views, giving you the space to Rest, Reset and Revive.

The large sitting room with wood burner in a slate hearth fireplace provides a cosy setting for nights in and the modern kitchen with large dining table gives ample space for everyone to eat together.

Packed full of character and charm, a handmade staircase leads upstairs to

a landing with vaulted ceiling and exposed stone walls and the French doors and Juliet balcony gives the space a light airy feel.

Sleeping consists of a King-size bedroom and Twin room with modern, comfy beds that guarantee a great night’s sleep. There’s a modern family bathroom with both shower and bath.

If you need something smaller, or are holidaying as an extended family or group, our 2 other cottages, Nuthatch and Cobble are also available. Or its possible to exclusively hire the whole site. There’s even space to land a helicopter for that private, exclusive rural retreat.

The location is convenient as it is idyllic. Tawnamoor makes an ideal location to explore the whole of Cornwall. Situated just outside Bodmin on the edge of Cardinham Woods, both the North and South Cornish Coasts are a short drive away and access to local amenities is easy without miles of winding lanes but just distant enough from the outside world.

Here for 6 nights and having the most wonderful time. David and Emma are the most lovely accommodating hosts we have ever come across, nothing is too much trouble. Fantastic!!! We're from Australia and stayed for a week in August. The cottage was amazing, very clean and comfortable. Everything had been thought of by Dave and Emma, who are great hosts. From the super comfortable beds, fluffy towels and welcome hamper. The robes and slippers were a nice touch and little additions like the phone chargers made all the difference. We also used the sauna and hot tub area, which was awesome. Thank you so much, highly recommend and we will return. Thanks again.

Absolutely LOVE this place! We have stayed at the Tawnamoor cottages twice now, are booked to come again in August and then again in October. The cottages are so cosy, welcoming, beautifully clean and Bodmin is such a great central spot to explore Cornwall. David and Emma are fantastic hosts, have thought of every amenity (welcome box, hot tubs, dog beds/towels, the list goes on). I would HIGHLY recommend a stay and we can't wait for our next stay.

Guests have access to our pastures and 14 acres of ancient woodland.

Our rates are inclusive of bed linen, towels, electricity, and wood for the log burners. Outdoor seating areas are available for guests use, as well as barbecues.

Toiletries from Made for Life Organics are also supplied.

We offer storage for bikes and paddle boards and designated parking.
