Disability Access Statement and Guide.

At Tawnamoor, we are committed to providing a welcoming and inclusive environment for all our guests. We understand the importance of accessibility and have taken measures to ensure that where possible, our holiday cottage is accessible to individuals with disabilities. Below is our Disability Access Statement and Guide to help you plan your stay with us.

We have three cottages, Tawnawood, Cobble and Nuthatch.

All the buildings are converted stone barns accessed over a gravel drive.

Tawnawood is a 2-bedroom, 2-storey barn with good-sized bedrooms and an open-plan kitchen living area. The upstairs, however, is accessed via a stone and wood staircase that makes it unsuitable for wheelchair users.

Cobble and Nuthatch are both ground-floor, single-story buildings. Both have open-plan living room/kitchen areas; however, Cobble has a better configuration for wheelchair users.

All the cottages have baths with showers over them.

Accessibility Features:

1. Access Ramps:

We have access ramps available to facilitate easy entry and exit for guests with mobility challenges. These ramps are designed to provide a smooth transition between the exterior and interior spaces.

2. Toilet Rails:

If required, we have sturdy, mobile toilet rails that can be fitted around toilets in the bathrooms to assist guests with stability and support.

3. it’s possible to access the sides of the beds via a wheelchair or walking frame.

4. Non-slip mats are available for use in the bath or shower.

5. Parking:

Parking is available close to the cottages in designated parking areas. The parking area is gravel. The cottages are accessed via a cobble path. The path has a couple of changes in level by means of a low-level step; however, we have mobility ramps if required to assist with this.

Assistance Animals:

We welcome registered assistance animals. Please inform us in advance about your assistance animal so that we can make the necessary arrangements for a comfortable stay. Whilst we ordinarily make a pet charge, this is not applicable to assistance animals.

We can provide dog bowls, dog bed, towel, and some doggie treats.
